Product Preview: 2025 Topps Series 2
Share
The next Topps flagship baseball release is upon us! 2025 Topps Series 2 Baseball will be releasing on Wednesday, June 11th! I enjoy flagship releases, so let's take a look at what to expect from this set.
Format
It looks like all typical flagship formats are back on the table for this set, including retail, fat packs, hanger, blasters (Regular, Fanatics, and Fanatics Fest exclusive version), Mega, Hobby, & and Hobby Jumbo.
What is not on the odds sheet is a tin (like the easter egg tin in Series 1). Also missing is the Celebration mega - really hoping we get these again. The fact that's missing from the Series 2 odds sheet is not surprising, however - for series one Topps published a dedicated checklist and odds sheet for the celebration mega boxes.
Inserts
NEW! All Kings - Similar to All Aces, but for non-pitchers
These are actually a little easier to pull that the All Aces in Series 1. The odds are 1:798 hobby packs (3.3 Cases) or 1:240 Jumbo packs (4 cases). This SP insert is only available in these 2 formats.
There is a Gold variation that is much harder to pull 1 in every 581 hobby CASES or 2,525 Jumbo CASES of Jumbo.
NEW! K Zone
Before the odds were publish I was assuming this was going to be a common insert with an SP variation (backwards K), however I was VERY wrong. These are harder to hit than the All Kings with odds at 1:2,032 hobby packs (8.5 cases) or 1:610 Jumbo packs (10.2 Cases). This SP insert is available in ALL formats.
The shorter printed variation of the K Zone insert is a backwards K, which I think looks really really good. The odds of pulling one of these are 1 in every 42.3 hobby CASES or 12.7 Jumbo CASES.
NEW! OPS Best
These common inserts and will show up about once per hobby box and twice per jumbo box.
NEW! Dynamic Duos
These multi-player cards are also common and have similar odds to the OPS Best insert. You should expect one per hobby and two per Jumbo.
NEW! Summer Superstars
These very common inserts will show up about 3 times in a hobby box and 5 times in a Jumbo box.
Rookie SPs
Rookie SPs are back again the checklist is Cam Smith, Matt Shaw, and Kristian Campbell. Odds are 1:1,693 hobby packs (7.1 cases) or 1:508 jumbo packs (8.5 cases). Available in all formats.
First Pitch
First pitch cards return. You can expect 3 per hobby case and 3 per jumbo case. Autographs for most are also available, but are hard to hit with base autos showing up once every 91 hobby cases or 80 jumbo cases. Here is the checklist:
- Joey Graziadei, Phillies (auto)
- The Miz, Guardians (auto)
- Rickey Henderson, Athletics
- Jenn Tran, Red Sox (auto)
- Mark Long, Diamondbacks (auto)

Rookie Chases
Overall this continues the 2025 trend of being a pretty weak rookie class, especially considering the 3 biggest names on opening day rosters are SPs in this set. Here are the rookies in the base set (their 'true rookies') that might be looking for.
- Roki Sasaki, Dodgers
- Hyeseong Kim, Dodgers
- Caden Dana, Angels
- Javier Sanoja, Marlins
- Thomas Saggese, Cardinals
- Kumar Rocker, Rangers
-
Luisangel Acuna, Mets
- Jackson Jobe, Tigers
- Kevin Alcantara, Cubs
- Tomoyuki Sugano, Orioles
- Griffin Conine, Marlins
- Dustin Harris, Rangers
- Daniel Schneeman, Guardians
Other checklist notes
- If the odds sheet published by on Topp.com is to be believed the odds for fanatics authentics redemptions (from Fanatics exclusive blasters) has been slashed dramatically. In 2025 Series 1, the odds were 1:2,348 (6.5 Cases), but in Series 2 the odds indicate is that it is now 1:75 or 4.8 redemptions in every case. I would not be surprised if this is an error.
- Player number variations and clear/acetate cards continue to be hobby only.
- All Positions Variation - This is a hobby-only insert that is only found once in every 258 cases. This recognizes the only 5 players to have played all 9 positions in a single MLB game: Scott Sheldon (Rangers), Andrew Romine (Tigers), Shane Halter (Tigers), Cesar Tovar (Twins), Bert Campaneris (Athletics)
- As usual we have Blaster exclusive holiday parallels. For this release these are: Hot Dog, Beach Ball, Beach Umbrella, Fireworks, and Waves.
