Product Preview: 2025 Topps Black & White

An annual favorite, Topps Black & White is back for it's 2025 iteration! New in the 2025 set we have Mega boxes! Topps really seems to be enjoying mega boxes as they just announced them for 2025 Bowman draft as well. It remains to be seen if these will be sold at retail and what impacts it will have overall on the product. pre-order prices on hobby boxes (aka collector's boxes) was $199.99 and mega boxes were $49.99. These are selling for $300 and $150 respectively on the secondary (ebay sales). 

 Let's take a look at the product....

Formats

Hobby Boxes (aka collector's boxes)

• 8 cards per pack; 10 packs per box; 10 boxes per case
• 4 parallels numbered /99 or lower per box
• 1 short print or super short print image variation per box
• 1 auto per box

Mega Boxes

• 8 cards per pack; 3 packs per box
• 3 Mega Box Exclusive Film Strip Parallels per box
• 1 Mega Box Exclusive Time Lapse insert per box

Base Set 

The base set features 125 players (#116-#125 are "Vault short prints"). This base set includes rookies, vets and legends. We don't have parallel information yet, but all parallels are numbered /99 or less. 

Included only in Mega boxes are film strip parallels of all base set players. 

Short Print/Super Short Print Variations

There are SP variations for 20 of the set's biggest names and Super Short Prints for 10 players. These will be designated by SP or SSP in front of the card-number.

Golden Hour (SP)

The golden hour SP insert is one of the product chases for this set. Only the biggest names make it onto this checklist. There are 20 players on the checklist with the biggest being: Nick Kurtz, Shohei Ohtani, Roki Sasaki, Paul Skenes, Ichiro, and James Wood.

Sticker Autos: Most autos in this set are sticker autos - 61 players in this set. 

On-Card Auto: This is a small 10-player set and features:
