Product Preview: 2025 Bowman Baseball Sapphire

We're getting weekly baseball releases in June 2025. This kicks off with two high end releases on Wednesday June 4th - 2025 Topps Sterling & 2025 Bowman Baseball Sapphire.

Let's take a look at 2025 Bowman Baseball Sapphire...

This set is pretty straight forward and have a relatively small print run making the product more expensive, but they hits also more valuable.

Boxes will release via EQL drop from Topps at $449.99, but will likely drop on secondary markets between $650 & $700. From Topps, "Each box guarantees one Chrome Autograph card and at least three exclusive colored Sapphire parallels."

Base

The 150 base checklist mirrors 2025 Bowman Baseball's base prospect set. So if you're looking for vets or rookies, this may not be the set for you (though there are some rookies on the sapphire selections insert). Players with Bowman "1st" cards in the 2025 Bowman set will also have "1st" on their base cards (and autos) here.

Sapphire Selections Inserts

Sapphire selections inserts are back. There is a 20-player set for this insert and this is the only place to pull a card of a rookie (Coby Mayo, Jacob Wilson, Kumar Rocker). The 17 other players on this checklist are generally the biggest chases from the base set.

Autographs

As is typical for sapphire releases the auto checklist is relatively small - only 28 players sign in this set. Note that autos in this set are identified as Bowman "1st" autos for those players with 1sts in 2025 Bowman.

In 2024 Bowman sapphire, base autos where not numbered, however in 2024 Bowman Chrome sapphire they were numbered to /199. I expect that base autos from this set will also be numbered to /199.

Sapphire Selections Autographs Cards

In addition to base autos (and parallels) there are also sapphire selection autos. It is a small checklist of only 7 player, but these are some of the biggest names in the set. Often, in previous releases, these appears as 'extra' autos in the boxes.
